Running any private practice these days requires fortitude and our guest exemplifies such.  Dr. Judy Kimelman is the current ACOG District VIII Chair, and she has lived through the tragedy of closing a 73-year-old OB/GYN practice in Seattle. Join us as she bravely discusses the changing landscape of medicine and the reasons behind her practice's closure. Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear a doctor's perspective on the future of the business of women's healthcare.

Dr. Judy Kimelman grew up in Northern California and went to the University of California Berkeley for her undergraduate degree in Biology and then obtained her medical degree from Stanford Medical School. She completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Washington School of Medicine and became a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1995. Dr. Kimelman was a staff physician at Medalia’s Healthcare for Women from 1993-1998 before joining the Seattle OB/GYN Group.

She has served as the WA state chair of American College of OB/GYN (ACOG) and currently serves as an ACOG Chair of District VIII the north and western states region. She is passionate about advocacy for women’s health care and teaching the next generation of OB/GYN’s to get involved.

In December 2023, Dr. Kimelman retired from practicing medicine and now enjoys spending time with her husband and two grown kids, hiking, kayaking, running, and reading.
