Pdf Summary
The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of lumbopelvic pain (LPP) during pregnancy and its presence after delivery. The study also investigated the disability degree of this group during these two periods and identified risk factors that could potentially influence LPP.

The study recruited 81 women during their third trimester of pregnancy between January 2014 and December 2015. These women completed a self-administered interview and signed a written consent approved by the ethics committee. Three months after delivery, the women were contacted again to answer the same self-administered interview.

The results showed that 81.48% of the studied group (66 out of 81 women) had LPP during pregnancy, with a higher prevalence during the third trimester (72.84%). After delivery, 25.93% of women (21 out of 81) still experienced LPP. There was a significant association between LPP and disability degree during pregnancy and the post-delivery period.

Other risk factors such as age, delivery type, number of deliveries, and body mass index did not show any statistically significant associations.

From the results, it can be concluded that LPP is highly prevalent during pregnancy, with a higher prevalence in the third trimester. LPP also persists in a significant number of patients after three months of delivery, causing disability during this period.

The statistical analysis used Fisher exact test for categorical variables and Wilcoxon test for ordinal and continuous variables. A p-value less than 0.025 was considered statistically significant.

Table 1 shows demographic and clinical characteristics of the studied group, including age, body mass index, parity, and presence of LPP during pregnancy and after delivery.
