The National Registry of Implants in Urogynecology is a database in the Czech Republic that aims to map the spectrum of implants used in urogynecologic procedures and study complication rates. The registry covers all surgical procedures involving the implantation of artificial material for both female urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. It was established in 2007 and covers the years 2007 to 2013.<br /><br />The registry is designed to provide valuable knowledge from a different perspective than randomized controlled trials and other evidence-based sources of data. It is not mandatory for physicians involved in urogynecology to cooperate with the registry, but their cooperation is encouraged.<br /><br />The registry has recorded a total of 19,138 implants between 2007 and 2013. Out of these, 15,152 were for female stress urinary incontinence and 3,986 were for pelvic organ prolapse. The registry also shows the evolution of different treatment method preferences for female stress urinary incontinence during this time period.<br /><br />The registry is now upgraded to an internet-based system that is strictly single patient oriented.
