Pdf Summary
A study was conducted to analyze the content of online reviews of physicians specializing in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) in order to understand patients' experiences and improve patient satisfaction. The study randomly sampled fifty urologists and urogynecologists from the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) membership website and evaluated their patient ratings and reviews from four websites: Yelp, Healthgrades, Vitals, and UCompareHealthCare.

The analysis of the reviews revealed several key findings. In terms of the patient-physician experience, positive reviews mentioned that physicians were easy to talk to, ensured patient understanding, and answered all questions. Negative reviews criticized physicians for not explaining procedures clearly and lacking in answering questions.

Positive reviews also discussed the personal connection and rapport patients had with their physicians, as well as the confidence and trust they had in their doctor.

Regarding medical and surgical management, negative reviews mentioned inconclusive or failed diagnoses and ineffective management, while positive reviews highlighted successful surgical outcomes, improved quality of life, and no complications or recurrence.

The office staff also played a role in patients' overall satisfaction. Positive reviews mentioned friendly and accommodating staff, rapid scheduling of surgery, and professional interactions. Negative reviews criticized rude and incompetent staff.

Additionally, patients expressed their analysis of the worth of their experience, with positive reviews stating that wait times and travel were worth it to receive care from their physician.

Overall, patients placed great importance on establishing personal connections with their physicians in FPMRS. Accurate diagnosis and effective management of urological conditions were also key factors in patient satisfaction. Good bedside manner was found to require the provider to demonstrate multiple sets of communication skills.
