The study also highlighted the potential for interdisciplinary collaboration between urologists, allergists, rheumatologists, transplant nephrologists, and other specialists in prescribing CYA for EC.<br /><br />The treatment regimen for the patients included initial use of oral antihistamines, with additional therapies such as oral anticholinergics, gabapentin, analgesics, botulinum toxin injections into the detrusor muscle, and triamcinolone injections into the lesions. Three patients who did not respond to these treatments progressed to CYA treatment, with monitoring by allergists and urologists.<br /><br />In conclusion, the study supports the use of CYA as an effective treatment for EC and emphasizes the need for standardized care and further research in this area. The findings also suggest the potential for collaboration among different specialists in managing EC patients.
