Pdf Summary
This study aimed to evaluate the impact of vaginal aging symptoms and their effect on the quality of life of postmenopausal patients. The DIVA questionnaire, consisting of twenty-two questions divided into four sections, was applied to 100 postmenopausal patients. The questionnaire assessed vaginal symptoms that occur frequently in postmenopause and their impact on daily life, emotional well-being, and sexual function. The scores ranged from 0 (never) to 4 (very often) for most questions. The results showed that the symptoms had a significant impact on the quality of life of the patients, with a cumulative impact of 76% on activities of daily living, 70% on emotional well-being, 57% on sexual functioning, and 74% on self-concept and body image. The average scores for each domain indicated a relatively low overall impact of the symptoms. The reliability of the questionnaire was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha, and the consistency ranged from 0.863 to 0.891, indicating good reliability. The study also found moderate to strong correlations between participant scores. Overall, the study concluded that the DIVA questionnaire is a useful tool for assessing symptoms of vaginal aging in postmenopausal patients and determining their impact on quality of life. The results can help guide treatment decisions for these patients.
