The study is a prospective, observational multi-center registry study evaluating the impact of the Desara® Sling System on the quality of life of patients with stress urinary incontinence (SUI). The primary outcome measures were patient-reported quality of life using the Patient Global Impression of Improvement (PGI-I) and Urogenital Distress Inventory (UDI-6) questionnaires. Secondary outcomes included dyspareunia (painful sex). Data was collected at baseline, 3-12 weeks, 1 year, and 2 years. <br /><br />The study included 1257 women, with 311 and 57 completing 1-year and 2-year follow-ups respectively. The mean age of the participants was 58.9 years. The results showed significant improvements in PGI-I scores at 1 year (91% reporting "Very Much Better" or "Much Better") and 2 years (89% reporting the same). The UDI-6 scores also significantly decreased from baseline to 1 year (4.25) and 2 years (5.0). No cases of de novo dyspareunia were reported. The study concluded that the Desara® Sling System is effective for treating stress urinary incontinence and improves quality of life.
