Pdf Summary
This study aimed to estimate the prevalence and severity of pelvic floor disorders (PFDs) in Latina survivors of gynecologic cancer, as well as explore reasons for not seeking help and assess patient willingness to seek treatment. The results showed a high rate of PFDs in the Latina population, particularly urinary incontinence and flatal incontinence. However, overall symptom severity and impact on quality of life were low. Postmenopausal patients had a higher PFIQ-7 score compared to non-postmenopausal women. The study also found that 46.8% of participants were willing to undergo treatment for PFDs. Reasons for not seeking care included low symptom severity or the absence of symptoms, believing symptoms were a new normal, and fear. The study suggests that increasing symptom severity influenced patients' decision to seek treatment. Potential barriers to seeking care should be further examined to improve screening and referrals for these patients.

In conclusion, this pilot study highlights the high prevalence of PFDs in Latina survivors of gynecologic cancer, despite the low overall severity of symptoms. Understanding the reasons for not seeking help and assessing patient willingness to seek treatment can help improve access to care for this population. Further research is needed to examine the prevalence and severity of PFDs in Latina survivors compared to non-Hispanic White survivors of gynecologic cancer.
