Pdf Summary
This study aimed to evaluate the effects of fesoterodine, a medication for overactive bladder syndrome (OAB), on OAB symptoms and sexual function in OAB patients. The study included 40 patients diagnosed with OAB based on clinical symptoms and a 3-day voiding diary. Patients were treated with a fixed-dose of fesoterodine (4 mg, daily) for 4 months. The efficacy of fesoterodine was assessed using standardized questionnaires to measure OAB symptoms, quality of life, and sexual function. Statistical analysis was performed to compare the scores before and after treatment.<br /><br />The results showed that fesoterodine treatment led to improvements in OAB symptoms, health-related quality of life, and sexual function in OAB patients. The mean scores for OAB symptoms and health-related quality of life significantly improved after 4 months of treatment. Patients reported reduced urinary frequency, nocturia, urgency, and urinary incontinence. The scores for symptom bother and the four health-related quality of life domains also showed improvement. Additionally, the scores for sexual function, including desire and satisfaction, were improved after treatment.<br /><br />Overall, the study demonstrates the efficacy of fesoterodine in improving OAB symptoms, quality of life, and sexual function in OAB patients. These findings support the use of fesoterodine as a treatment option for OAB patients and suggest a more comprehensive approach to managing OAB.
