Three groups were identified based on the patients' treatment history: Group 1 consisted of patients who had not previously used anticholinergics and only underwent t-PTNS, Group 2 consisted of patients who used t-PTNS after failing with anticholinergics, and Group 3 consisted of patients who used t-PTNS concurrently with anticholinergics.<br /><br />The primary endpoint of the study was the efficacy of the treatment, as evaluated subjectively by the patients. The overall success rate of the treatment was found to be 50%. Group 1 had the highest success rate (58.3%), followed by Group 2 and Group 3 (46% and 46.8%, respectively).<br /><br />Of the patients who acquired the TENS device and completed the 36 sessions, 72% achieved success. Logistic regression analysis revealed that acquiring the TENS device and performing t-PTNS at home was a strong protective factor against treatment failure.<br /><br />In conclusion, the study suggests that t-PTNS with a TENS device can be an effective treatment for OAB. Performing the therapy at home was found to be associated with a higher success rate. Further research could focus on exploring the factors influencing treatment outcomes and evaluating the long-term effects of t-PTNS.
