Self-Assessment Fellows Exam (SAFE) is a web-based, multiple-choice exam designed to test objectives found in the Guide to Learning for Urogynecology. 

• This exam is intended to serve solely as a self-assessment for individual fellows.
• AUGS is the only sponsoring organization. The exam questions are written by our highly dedicated group of AUGS volunteers.
• The exam contains 100 multiple choice questions.
• The allocated time for the exam is 3 hours (180 minutes). Please contact education@augs.org if you need special accomodations. 
• The items on the exam have not been validated, meaning valid comparisons cannot be made between fellows' scores.
• We will not release exam statistics to the general public. Individual programs will receive their own scores and statistics.

After taking SAFE, learners will be able to:

1. Compare knowledge of exam topics by category during each year of training.
2. Access references to broaden understanding in areas of knowledge weakness.

Taking the Exam
We highly recommend that all fellows from a program take the exam on the same day at the same time. AUGS DOES NOT provide exam proctoring. Fellows are responsible for following their own program requirements when taking the exam. Please check with your program coordinator or program director for proctoring requirements.  Instructions on how to access the exam will be made available via e-mail after registration closes on February 24th. 

Results
The exam will be scored immediately upon submission. Examinees will be able to view their scores, along with the category of any question that they missed together with its learning objectives, commentary and references.  Examinees will also receive a comparison of how they did on the exam compared to other test takers. To protect the integrity of the exam, we will not be able to share the question stems with any examinees. Following the exam, AUGS will separarately share results with program directors. 

Registration
Individuals taking the exam MUST register for SAFE on their own. FINAL EXAM REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS FEBRURARY 24TH.

The exam will be available to all registered and paid participants on March 3rd. Access to the exam will end on March 14th. Each fellow and program can decide when and how to take the exam. AUGS staff will not be monitoring exam progress. 

• AUGS Fellowship Program Members - The exam is complimentary for fellows in an ACGME accredited AUGS Fellowship Program that has paid its 2025 dues in full by December 31, 2024. If your program has not renewed for their 2025 membership on or before the membershp renewal due date, or if they did not pay for membership exceeding three fellows (when applicable), you and/or your program will be invoiced $285 per fellow.
• AUGS Fellow Members (not part of a Fellowship Program membership) – $285 per person
• Fellow Non-Members – $385 per person
