1. Know the latest update on the American Urological Association (AUA) Guidelines on the Diagnosis and Treatment of interstitial cystitis/ bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS).
2. Know the clinical phenotypes of IC/BPS.

Dr. H. Henry Lai, MD, is the Gerald L. Andriole Endowed Professor of Urologic Surgery, Professor of Anesthesiology, and Director of Urologic Research at Washington University School of Medicine.  He is a clinician-scientist with clinical, translational, and basic research focus on benign lower urinary tract disorders including interstitial cystitis, chronic prostatitis, overactive bladder, and urinary incontinence.  He has been continuously funded by the NIH for over a decade.  He is the PI and Chair of the NIDDK LURN (Symptoms of Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction Research Network), studying the clinical phenotypes of lower urinary tract disorders including overactive bladder and urinary urgency.  He is also the PI of the NIDDK MAPP (Multi-disciplinary Approach to the Study of Chronic Pelvic Pain) Research Network, studying the clinical phenotypes of interstitial cystitis and chronic prostatitis.  He is also the PI of the Urinary Stone Disease Research Network (USDRN).  He has a solid track record of publication and have authored about 160 papers.  He was a recipient of the Rising Stars in Urology Research Award from the American Urological Association (AUA), and the Paul Zimskind Award from the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU).

Dr. Ashmore started fellowship July 2022 and is currently at University of Chicago. She completed her undergraduate studies at St. John’s University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and minors in Biology and Theology. She attending medical school at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. Sarah completed her OB/GYN residency training at Allegheny Health Network.
