Transitioning from fellowship to independent practice can be daunting. This webinar will answer the common questions that fellows have about starting off in various practice environments.

Dr. Caroline Cox, received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Pennsylvania before completing her residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 2017. She completed a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan in 2020. Her clinical and research interests include optimizing native tissue prolapse repair, gender affirmation surgery, surgical simulation education, and environmental sustainability in the operating room. She currently serves as a member of the AUGS membership committee and the SGS Pelvic Anatomy Group Digital Library Workgroup. Dr. Cox joined the Penn Medicine faculty in August 2020.

Dr. Erik Hokenstad, grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota and received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in OB/GYN and fellowship in FPMRS at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Upon graduation from fellowship, Dr. Hokenstad and his wife, the other Dr. Hokenstad (GYN Oncology and Palliative Medicine), joined the Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana.

Dr. Ann Tran, is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Assistant Fellowship Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Tran evaluates and treats a wide variety of urogynecologic conditions, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections, painful bladder syndrome/interstitial cystitis, as well as various complex gynecologic conditions. She also performs a range of in-office procedures, from urodynamics, cystoscopies, and bladder Botox injections for management of overactive bladder. Surgically, she is proficient in vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic pelvic reconstructive surgery. Dr. Tran is actively involved in research focused on the prevention of pelvic floor disorders, specifically looking at ways to augment the reparative process after childbirth. Her latest research studied the effect of vitamin C on the collagen structure of the uterosacral-cardinal ligament complex in postpartum, for which she received a grant from the Long Island Jewish Medical Staff Society. She has presented her research at national conferences and also has lectured on aspects of urogynecology.
