This presentation will review what we currently know about health disparities in FPMRS and provide a framework for evaluating these health disparities as well as a framework for advancing health equity in FPMRS.

1. To review the defintiition of health disparities, social determinants of health and how they impact health equity.
2.Review the current literature on disparities in FPMRS specifically related to pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.
3. Review a framework for understanding disparities
4.Discuss strategies for applying a health equity lens in FPMRS

Dr. Brown is a Female Medicine and Reconstructive fellow at Northwestern University and will be joining the FPMRS faculty at Northwestern in the Fall of 2021. She currently co-chairs the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee for the Department of OB/GYN at Northwestern. Her areas of interest include health and healthcare disparities, surgical outcomes, and bias and racism in medicine and medical education.
