Electricity is all around us. But do you really understand how it works? Do you really understand how we use it in the OR and not cause electrocutions? This session will provide a foundational base of electrosurgery in the OR to help surgeons understand how their instruments work and how to best use their instruments to safely care for patients.
Dr. Beran is an Associate Professor in Obstetrics & Gynecology, as well as the Chief of Complex Gynecology, at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. He completed the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida. His practice focuses on surgical management of gynecologic conditions, particularly endometriosis and uterine fibroids, and he also performs and interprets gynecologic ultrasound.
