Common Vulvar Dermatoses: Evaluation and Management
Description
This lecture will review the evaluation of patients presenting with vulvar pruritus and provide tools for diagnosis and management of common vulvar dermatoses.

  1. Accurately describe vulvar physical exam findings
  2. Discuss indications and techniques for performing a vulvar biopsy
  3. Counsel patients on goals of therapy
  4. Formulate an initial plan of management
Faculty
Katerina (Katie) Shvartsman, MD currently serves as the Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Gynecologic Surgery and Obstetrics at the Uniformed Services University (USU) School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD. She attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine through the Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program. She completed residency training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and was stationed at the National Naval Medical Center (now Walter Reed National Military Medical Center) where she served her military commitment. She is the founder and director of the Vulvar Dermatology Clinic at Walter Reed. Dr. Shvartsman’s clinical and research interests include medical student and resident education, general obstetrics, and vulvar dermatology.
