This webinar will address the lack of understanding and knowledge in pelvic floor ultrasound imaging that has limited the utility of pelvic floor imaging in urogynaecology. We will review Pelvic Floor Anatomy, Instrumentation, 2D/3D Endovaginal pelvic floor US imaging of the levator ani muscles and Birth trauma, Evaluation of defecatory dysfunction, 2D/3D and functional US imaging of Vaginal Slings and urethral bulking agents

1. Describe the basic methodology of 2D transperineal and 2D/3D Endovaginal pelvic floor ultrasound
2. Identify how Pelvic floor imaging can help evaluate lower urinary tract and urinary incontinence.
3. Recite how Pelvic floor imaging can help evaluate bowel symptms and obstructed defecation.
Faculty
S. Abbas Shobeiri spends most of his time with his family and pets; he paints, bicycles, travels, hikes, and writes poetry.  He is the INOVA Health System Chief of Gynecology and a Professor of OB/GYN, Medical Education, and Bioengineering.  Dr. Shobeiri earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington, Medical Degree from TUFTS University, completed a residency and fellowship at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and obtained a Healthcare MBA from Brandeis University. He was the section chief for FPMRS at the University of Oklahoma for 13 years. Dr. Shobeiri is the director of the NAFC designated national center of excellence, INOVA pelvic floor program, Ultrasound of Pelvic Floor Investigation and Therapeutics (UPFIT) INOVA-George Mason University collaborative. Dr. Shobeiri has been the recipient of AUGS Best Educational Research, APGO Excellence in Teaching, and BJOG best reviewer awards; has received funding from AUGS, ACOG, NICHD, and the industry; and has been a grant reviewer for PCORI, NIH, ACOG, AUGS, and American Federation for Aging Research. He has authored >200 articles in scientific journals and is the editor of "Practical Pelvic Floor Ultrasonography" book, now in 2nd edition, and "The Innovation and Evolution of Medical Devices."
