This presentation will cover detailed pelvic floor anatomy of the levator ani, perineal membrane, cardinal and uterosacral ligaments. After the presentation, listeners will have a comprehensive understanding of the functional anatomy of these structures, and the association between impairments in these structures and prolapse. In addition, the relationship between Level I and Level III support will be presented and implications for successful treatment strategies explored. After attending htis session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the telationship between Level I and Level III support.
- Understand the functional anatomy and clinical assessment of the levator ani muscles.
- Identify apical support structures and changes with prolapse.
