Dr. Mikio Nihira is the Medical Director of SevenStar OB/GYN – a women’s health practice that serves two safety-net hospitals in Riverside, CA.

Dr. Nihira is a former professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UC Riverside, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a subspecialist in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.  He is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, American Urogynecologic Society and National Association for Continence.  He has served as both an OB/GYN residency and subspecialty Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship program director.  He has authored numerous scientific journal articles plus several textbook chapters in gynecology and urogynecology.  He is a nationally recognized expert in female pelvic floor disorders and has been quoted in such publications as the Chicago Sun Times, Dallas Morning News and Shape magazine.

He routinely works with medical students and residents that have > $300,000.00 in educational debt.  His concern for these trainees fuels his passion to educate clinicians about how physicians earn money.  He co-hosts a podcast about the business of medicine on the OB/GYN business institute.
